Which health and trait markers do you test for?

Once your pet's DNA sample arrives at the lab, processing takes 4-6 weeks, barring any issues.

How long does it take to get results?

It's easy! Please read the steps below for instructions before sending back the sample:
1. Create a Basepaws account at my.basepaws.com/login

2. Add a profile for your pet including name, birthday, and gender

3. Register the barcode from the side of the test tube, and click "register kit" to save!

4. Swab your pet's mouth for at least 5 seconds minimum; ideally, we want DNA on all sides of the swab

5. Insert the swab into the stabilizing liquid, then place the tube into the plastic baggie from the kit and seal it up

6. If you are within the United States, please take the kit to your nearest USPS bin or post office. If you are located outside of the United States, you can ship the sample back to us however you'd like!
