What can my pet’s health markers tell me?Updated 2 months ago

The Basepaws Breed + Health DNA test screens for 114 genetic markers – 50 genetic trait markers and 64 genetic health markers – which reside in unique regions of a cat’s DNA. If we think of DNA as a road, genetic markers are the signposts that “mark” known locations on this road. Each marker is associated with a specific disease, such as a heart condition, or a trait, such as coat color or pattern.

Having your pet's health markers available means that potential threats to their health can be addressed sooner rather than later.
