We offer free replacement kits if the sample is not viable. International customers are still required to pay for return shipping of free replacement kits.Once the swab is used and a sample has been taken from your pet, the sample itself will remain viable for up to a year.You are welcome to purchase a $15 replacement kit if your test kit has expired and does not have enough purple liquid in the test tube. Although there are no privacy laws governing cats and their genetic information, we have implemented the following procedures to try to protect your information as much as possible.&#xA0;We have a strict internal privacy policy that instructs our employees on how personal information collected on our website or obtained through testing of your pets is handled. This information belongs to the person who registers their pet&apos;s Basepaws DNA Test. The pet&apos;s laboratory results can only be communicated to the pet owner. In other cases, it may be a veterinarian (upon the pet owner&apos;s request). If it is not the individual who ordered the test, we require permission from the original customer and may require a medical release form to be signed by that original customer, releasing the information to the third party. It&#x2019;s that simple. We will not release your pet&apos;s information to a third party without your written consent.
